NHAI Ends KYV for New FASTags

NHAI Ends KYV for New FASTags

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced that starting from February 1, 2026, they will no longer require the Know Your Vehicle (KYV) process for new FASTags issued to cars, jeeps, and vans.

This change is meant to make things easier for people using highways, as they won't have to deal with extra checks after getting their FASTag.

For existing FASTags, KYV will only be needed if there are complaints about issues like incorrect issuance or misuse.

The NHAI is also making sure that all vehicle details are checked before activating a FASTag, using the VAHAN database or the Registration Certificate (RC).

This way, users won't have to go through repeated checks after getting their FASTag.

The goal is to make the FASTag system more user-friendly and reduce problems for highway users.
