Odisha Floods as Bengal Gets Rain, Coastal States Alert

Heavy rain has caused flooding in parts of Odisha.

The rain came from a strong weather system called a deep depression.

Some places received more than 100 millimetres of rain in one day.

Tentulikhunti received the most rain, at 395 millimetres.

Floods, landslides and waterlogged roads disrupted daily life.

Six southern districts of Odisha were badly affected.

About 10,000 people were moved to safer relief centres.

The weather system reached land near Kalingapatnam and may become weaker by Saturday.
