Bengaluru's Urban Village Square Initiative Expands Across City
Bengaluru is making itself nicer!
The city is building little parks and hang-out spots called 'Urban Village Squares' to make places friendlier and easier to walk around.
They've already finished five, like at Brigade Road and Race Course Road, and they're working on more.
Each spot has a special idea, like making it safer for people to walk.
The city asked people to help decide where to build these places.
Now, people can suggest where to build new parks and hang-out spots.
The city will check if those spots are good to build on, and then design them.
It takes about six to nine months to build each one.
BBMP expands 'Brand Bengaluru' by building Urban Village Squares and public spaces.
Five urban spaces are completed, with one more under development near BHEL Circle.
Each space has a unique theme, chosen after public consultations and multiple design iterations.
BBMP launched a city-wide campaign for citizens to nominate potential public space locations.
Implementation timelines typically range from 6 to 9 months after the design phase.
