Odisha Rises to Seventh in National Rooftop Solar Installations

Odisha Rises to Seventh in National Rooftop Solar Installations

Odisha is installing more solar panels on people’s rooftops.

It is now ranked seventh among states for these installations.

The work is part of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.

About 1.74 lakh rooftop systems have been installed from more than 3.12 lakh applications.

This means more than half of the applications have resulted in installations.

The state wants to reach three lakh installations by 2027.

Some eligible households can receive financial help of up to Rs 1.38 lakh for a 3 kWp system.

Electricity distribution companies are helping people apply, inspect systems and connect them to the grid.

Training and outreach programs are also encouraging wider participation in rooftop solar.
