Bajaj Auto Secures EU Approval for Full Control of KTM's Parent Company
Imagine Bajaj Auto is like a big toy company that makes some cool bikes.
There's another big company that owns the famous KTM bikes, and also Husqvarna and GasGas.
Bajaj already works with this company and makes some bikes together.
Now, Bajaj wants to buy the rest of the part of the company that owns KTM so they can be in charge of more of the decisions.
They asked the 'bike police' in Europe if it was okay, and the 'bike police' said yes!
This means Bajaj will have more say in how these bikes are made and what new ones they create.
It's like getting a bigger piece of the pie, which will help Bajaj become a bigger name in the motorcycle world.
Bajaj Auto's subsidiary, BAIH, has received European Commission approval to gain full control of Pierer Mobility AG, the parent company of KTM.
The approval means the transaction will not face an in-depth investigation under the Foreign Subsidies Regulation.
Bajaj will acquire the remaining stake in Pierer Bajaj AG, making it the sole owner and increasing its control over KTM, Husqvarna, and GasGas.
The deal has already received approvals from multiple countries, including Austria, the US, and Turkey.
This acquisition is expected to enhance Bajaj's global position, allowing for greater control over production, technology, and brand strategy.
