Mutiny Review Finds Jason Statham’s Action Formula Painfully Dull
Mutiny is an action movie starring Jason Statham.
He plays Cole Reed, a security chief whose employer is killed.
Cole goes onto a cargo ship to find the people responsible.
He discovers that the ship’s captain is trafficking people.
A crew member named Angie helps him rescue the captives.
The reviewer says the story is very predictable.
The fights include some violent moments but are not very creative.
The review concludes that the film is dull despite its short runtime.
Mutiny follows Jason Statham’s familiar covert-operator revenge formula without offering major surprises.
Cole Reed investigates the killing of businessman Tibu Campallo by infiltrating one of his cargo ships.
The ship’s captain is operating a human-trafficking scheme, with Cole helped by third mate Angie.
The review criticizes the film’s generic dialogue, stilted performances, bland villain and predictable plot.
Although some kills are brutal, the action reportedly makes weak use of the cargo-ship setting.
