Delhi High Court Bans DUSU Victory Processions, Warns Criminal Action

The Delhi High Court has stopped victory processions for the DUSU Elections 2026.

It said people could face criminal action or contempt of court if they break the order.

The judges were concerned about violence during election-related events.

They asked why police allowed vehicles without number plates to drive on the roads.

Some vehicles reportedly displayed candidates’ names.

The court also questioned the presence of large groups of vehicles, called cavalcades.

Judges criticized people standing on rooftops and vehicle bonnets.

They said these actions could create fear and show unfair power around candidates.
