GVMC Receives Two State-Level Swachha Andhra Awards Alongside Local Honours
The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation, or GVMC, received two state cleanliness awards.
One award was for municipalities with more than three lakh people.
The other award was for clean government offices.
Y Nagaraju, who works in GVMC’s West Zone, also received an award.
Other sanitation workers and community groups received district-level awards.
These awards recognize work to keep Visakhapatnam clean and healthy.
GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg praised workers, residents, officials and voluntary organizations.
The state awards were reported as being presented in Vijayawada during Gandhi Jayanti celebrations, although an earlier report described the ceremony as scheduled for October 2.
