Mysore Royal Disputes Nehru's Role in HAL's Bengaluru Founding
Some people are arguing about who really started a big company called HAL in Bengaluru.
A leader said that the first Prime Minister of India, Nehru, started it.
But another leader from the Mysore royal family says that's not true.
He says an Indian businessman and the Mysore kingdom started it way back in 1940, giving land and money.
The government of Mysore helped a lot.
The royal leader wants people to remember the real history and focus on making HAL better instead of giving credit to the wrong people.
BJP MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar fact-checked Deputy CM DK Shivakumar's claim that Nehru established HAL in Bengaluru.
Wadiyar stated HAL was founded in 1940 by industrialist Walchand Hirachand, with support from the Kingdom of Mysore.
The Maharaja of Mysore provided land and invested Rs 25 lakh to support the venture.
HAL was incorporated in December 1940 under the Mysore Companies Act.
Wadiyar expressed disappointment over lack of acknowledgment of Mysore's role and urged the government to focus on strengthening HAL.
