UK and Norway Strengthen Arctic Defense Amid Trump's Threats
The United Kingdom and Norway have decided to work together to protect the Arctic Circle.
They are sending British Royal Marines to stay there all year.
This is because the US President, Donald Trump, has said he wants to take Greenland, which is part of Denmark.
The UK and Norway are also worried about Russia.
They are making a permanent base with lots of soldiers and special equipment.
They will also do big military exercises in 2026 to show they are strong and united.
This is to make sure the Arctic is safe and to send a message to Trump that he can't just do what he wants.
UK and Norway agree to permanent military deployment in the Arctic Circle.
British Royal Marines will operate year-round in Northern Norway's coastlines and mountains.
Deployment includes 1,500 personnel with all-terrain vehicles, helicopters, and advanced military equipment.
Nato's Exercise Cold Response planned for 2026 to demonstrate unity and deterrence in the Arctic.
Deployment aims to address threats from both Russia and potential US annexation of Greenland under Trump.
