Fact Check: Trump’s UN Speech Made Several Misleading Claims

President Donald Trump made several claims during a speech at the United Nations.

A fact check found that some claims were missing important context or were not supported by available evidence.

US and NATO supplies of some missiles are reportedly running low, even though Trump said there were more weapons than needed.

The United States and Venezuela do not control 60% of the world’s oil reserves together.

Their combined reserves are estimated at about 22% of the global total.

It is also impossible to know whether 97% of illegal drugs were stopped because authorities cannot count drugs that were never found.

The US has gained many jobs, but the reported increase is about 807,000 since Trump took office for his second administration.

His claims about ending eight wars and attracting $21 trillion in investments were also described as overstated.
