Climate Summit on Corn Revolution to be held in August
A summit about corn is coming to New Delhi!
It's all about using corn in new ways to help with energy and the environment.
The main idea is to use sweet corn for food and a special type of corn (GM corn) to make things like fuel and chemicals instead of using oil.
This could help India make more ethanol, which is a clean fuel.
The goal is to make India a big exporter of these new corn-based products, helping both the environment and the economy.
It's a project led by a scientist named Dr. J P Gupta.
The fifth international climate summit on Corn Revolution will be held in New Delhi on August 29.
The summit aims to promote sweet corn for consumption and GM, non-edible corn for industrial use and ethanol production.
GM Corn is presented as a substitute to Crude Oil.
The initiative is intended to contribute to energy and food security, and decarbonization.
Dr. J P Gupta, the summit's initiator, has met with Union ministers to invite them.
