Jindal Steel builds world's longest steel slag road in India

Jindal Steel built a long road in Raigarh using waste from steel factories.

The waste, called steel slag, was processed to make strong road-building material.

The road is 1.85 kilometres long and has four lanes.

Guinness World Records recognised it as the longest road of its kind.

About 2 lakh tonnes of processed slag were used.

Scientists helped crush, clean and grade the material before it was used.

The road was tested for environmental safety and for heavy trucks.

It is thinner than a regular road and cost less to build.

The project shows how industrial waste can be reused instead of relying as much on natural stone.
