Women Force Closure of Illegal Belt Shops, Revive Village

Women in Thallavellamla village were worried because many men spent their wages on alcohol.

There were nearly 10 illegal liquor shops in the village.

People from nearby villages also came there to buy alcohol.

This caused noise, public nuisance and other problems.

The women asked Pushpa, the wife of a local MLA, for help.

The village sarpanch then organized awareness rallies.

A village resolution was passed to ban the illegal liquor shops.

The women’s effort helped make the village safer and gave families hope.
