Residents Protest NHAI Over Delayed Foot-Over-Bridges
People in Hayathnagar are very upset because the NHAI is not building bridges for pedestrians to cross a busy highway safely.
They had a protest because many people have been hurt or killed while crossing the road.
The NHAI started building some bridges but didn't finish them, and they built one in a place where no one uses it.
The protest leaders say the NHAI should talk to the locals to solve problems and finish the bridges to keep people safe.
Residents of 30 colonies protested against NHAI's delay in completing Foot-over-Bridges (FoBs) on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway.
NHAI has proposed three FoBs but only completed one at Word and Deed High School.
NHAI built a FoB at Autonagar instead of Bhagyalatha bus stop due to objections from local shopkeepers.
At least 16 people have died in the last two years while crossing the highway, including a recent fatal accident involving an MBBS student.
Protest leaders criticized NHAI's negligence and urged officials to prioritize pedestrian safety.
