Rajasthan Minister Urges MLAs to Fund School Repairs
A minister in Rajasthan, India, has asked all local leaders to use some of their money to fix old and broken school buildings.
The minister said that many schools have buildings that are not safe, especially after heavy rains.
He wants each leader to give 20% of their special fund, which is about Rs 1 crore, to build new and safe school buildings.
This will help make schools better and safer for students to learn in.
Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar urged MLAs to allocate 20% of their funds for school repairs.
A survey found 3,768 schools with dilapidated structures and 83,783 unsafe classrooms.
Heavy rainfall worsened the condition of many school buildings, necessitating immediate repairs.
MLAs were asked to allocate Rs 1 crore for constructing new buildings to replace unsafe structures.
