India's Key Reservoirs Top 60% Capacity Due to Monsoon
Imagine India has big water tanks (reservoirs).
These tanks are now more than half full, about 60%.
This is because of the monsoon rains.
The water levels are much higher than last year and the average of the past 10 years.
Some states have tanks that are completely full!
The east of India didn't get as much rain as the other areas.
More rain is expected, so the tanks will likely fill up even more.
Water storage in India's major reservoirs is at 60.75% of capacity.
Storage is significantly higher than last year and the 10-year average.
Most regions saw improved storage due to the monsoon, except the eastern region.
Six reservoirs are filled to capacity, with high levels in several states.
A fresh disturbance is expected to increase storage further.
