Indian Navy Contracts for Indigenous Underwater Robots
The Indian Navy has agreed to buy underwater robots from an Indian company, Coratia Technologies.
The deal is worth about $7.5 million.
These robots, called UWROVs, are made in India and can do things like map the ocean floor and check infrastructure.
It’s like the Navy is getting underwater eyes and hands.
This helps India build its own technology and supports local businesses.
The company also received funding to expand, aiming to tap into the growing global demand for underwater robots.
Indian Navy signed a contract with Coratia Technologies for indigenous UWROVs.
The contract is worth ₹66 crore (approx. $7.5 million).
UWROVs are designed and manufactured by Odisha-based Coratia Technologies.
The robots are intended for both defense and civilian applications.
