HC Seeks Govt Reply on Baripada University VC Appointment
Imagine a school, but it's a big university!
The High Court wants the government to find a new principal (called a Vice-Chancellor) for the Baripada University.
The old principal's time ran out a while ago, in December 2023, and the court is worried.
A lawyer, who is like a person who helps people with problems, filed a request because the university hasn't had a permanent principal since November 2022.
The lawyer says the current temporary principal isn't supposed to be in charge anymore.
Even though the government tried to find a new principal by putting out an advertisement, nothing has happened yet, according to some information they found.
Orissa High Court seeks a reply from the state government.
The court is addressing a PIL regarding a regular VC for Baripada University.
The university has been without a permanent VC since November 2022.
An in-charge VC was appointed in December 2022, with a term expiring in December 2023.
