18,000 Students Pledge Against Nylon Manja
In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, a big group of students from city schools made a promise not to use a dangerous type of kite string called nylon manja.
This promise was made before a festival called Makar Sankranti.
The students also said they would tell their friends and family not to use it and to tell the police if they see anyone using it.
The city leaders and school teachers helped with this promise because nylon manja has caused many accidents, including one where a little boy got hurt very badly.
The students want to make sure everyone is safe during the festival.
18,000 students from CSMC schools pledged against using nylon manja ahead of Makar Sankranti.
The pledge was initiated due to recent accidents, including the death of a three-year-old boy.
Students promised to discourage others from using nylon manja and to report its use to the police.
The initiative was led by Municipal Commissioner G Sreekanth and other senior officials.
The civic body hopes the students' efforts will promote safer and eco-friendly celebrations.
