Tejwani Arrested in Pune Land Scam
Sheetal Tejwani, a woman involved in a big land scam in Pune, was arrested and sent to police custody until December 11.
She is accused of selling 40 acres of government land for Rs 300 crore to a company linked to Parth Pawar, the son of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
The land was leased to the Botanical Survey of India and was sold without the required government approval.
The police say she is not cooperating with the investigation.
The opposition parties are upset because no action has been taken against Parth Pawar, who owns most of the company.
They say the government is protecting him and want the deputy chief minister, Ajit Pawar, to resign.
Sheetal Tejwani arrested for her role in the Pune land scam involving the sale of 40 acres of government land to Amadea Enterprises LLP.
The land in Mundhwa, leased to the Botanical Survey of India, was sold without mandatory state government approval.
Tejwani held the power of attorney for 272 watandars of Mahar watan land in Mundhwa and was arrested by the EOW on December 6.
