Madhya Pradesh High Court Orders Retest of DNA Samples in POCSO Case
The Madhya Pradesh High Court is making sure that a POCSO case gets a second look.
They've ordered the lab to retest some DNA samples.
This happened because a scientist admitted to making a mistake in the first report.
The court wants a team of three scientists to do the retesting and will not include the scientist who made the original error.
The court has also told the scientist to take a refresher course before doing any more testing.
All her reports will now be checked by another scientist before being presented to the court.
The court ordered her appointing authority to take action.
The court's concern is that such mistakes could seriously affect a victim or the accused.
The High Court ordered the FSL Bhopal to retest DNA samples.
The retest must be conducted by a team of three scientists.
The original report was found to have a mistake.
The scientist who made the error is not allowed to be part of the retesting team.
The scientist must undergo a refresher course before working on tests again.
