DMK MLA Arrested for Threatening Chief Minister
A politician named G R Markendiyan from the DMK party was arrested because he made some very mean and threatening comments about the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, C Joseph Vijay.
This happened after a public meeting where Markendiyan responded to the Chief Minister's comments about his 'search for father,' which many people thought was a dig at the DMK president.
Markendiyan said some scary things about what would happen to the Chief Minister if he locked the doors of the Assembly.
Because of these comments, the police arrested him.
Some of Markendiyan's supporters are upset and think the arrest is unfair, but the police say it was necessary because of the threatening remarks.
DMK MLA G R Markendiyan was arrested for defamatory and threatening remarks against Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay.
The remarks were made during a public meeting on July 18 in response to the Chief Minister's comments about 'searching for the father.'
Markendiyan allegedly threatened to crush the Chief Minister's bones if he locked the Assembly doors.
DMK supporters protested the arrest, condemning the police action.
Another DMK MLA, Anitha Radhakrishnan, was also arrested earlier this month for similar remarks against the Chief Minister.
