SpaceX Crew-13 astronauts bring diverse expertise to orbit
SpaceX Crew-13 carried four astronauts to the International Space Station.
They will live and work there for about six months.
Jessica Watkins is an American geologist who has already been to space once.
Luke Delaney is an American former naval aviator and test pilot making his first spaceflight.
Joshua Kutryk is a Canadian former fighter pilot and test pilot also flying in space for the first time.
Sergey Teteryatnikov is a Russian cosmonaut with experience in naval engineering.
The spacecraft reached the station in 7 hours and 55 minutes.
NASA said this was the fastest trip from launch to the station by an American spacecraft.
The astronauts will join an international team already living aboard the station.
Crew-13 reached the International Space Station in 7 hours and 55 minutes after launching from Florida on October 1.
The four-member crew includes NASA astronauts Jessica Watkins and Luke Delaney, Joshua Kutryk of the Canadian Space Agency, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergey Teteryatnikov.
Watkins is returning to space after spending 170 days aboard the 2022 SpaceX Crew-4 mission.
Delaney and Kutryk are making their first spaceflights after careers as naval and fighter pilots and test pilots.
Teteryatnikov, whose background is in naval engineering, is making his first trip to the space station after becoming a test cosmonaut in 2023.
