India-EU FTA Nears Final Stage
India and the European Union (EU) are almost done talking about a big trade deal.
This deal will make it easier and cheaper for them to trade things like cars, wine, spirits, and clothes.
It's expected to help both sides, especially since the US has put high taxes on Indian goods.
The deal will also help India sell more things to the EU and make it easier for companies to invest in each other's countries.
This is a big step because they have been talking about this deal for a long time, but they had some disagreements.
Now, they are close to finishing it, which will be good for both India and the EU.
India and the EU are in the final stages of negotiating a free trade agreement (FTA).
The FTA is expected to boost India's exports to the EU and help diversify trade amid US tariffs.
Key benefits include reduced or eliminated tariffs on goods like technology, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, and textiles.
The EU is India's largest trading partner for goods, with bilateral trade worth USD 136.53 billion in 2024-25.
Negotiations for the FTA began in 2007, faced several hurdles, and were re-launched in June 2022.
