Power lines rerouting fast-tracked in Amaravati
The government of Andhra Pradesh is speeding up the process of moving big power lines that are currently passing through the new capital city, Amaravati.
The chief secretary has asked the authorities to quickly and carefully move these power lines to make way for new buildings and roads.
They are planning to move the power lines around the main areas of the city and along green spaces and big roads.
The government is closely watching the progress to make sure everything is done on time.
They are also making sure that all the different departments work together to solve any problems that come up.
Chief secretary K Vijayanand directed APCRDA and APTransco to expedite the re-routing of 400 KV and 220 KV EHT transmission lines in Amaravati.
The re-routing is being done to facilitate infrastructure development in the core capital zone.
The revised alignment will bypass core development zones and align with green buffers and major arterial road corridors.
The works are being closely monitored by the government, including regular reviews by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Officials were instructed to complete the works as per timelines, update progress regularly, and resolve issues through inter-departmental coordination.
