Corporate Trainer Builds Rs 100 Crore Consumer Brands and Investment Portfolio
Vishal Kedia started with very little money and a job teaching computers.
He felt his job was boring, so he used his tech skills to build apps and websites for people in other countries.
This business grew big, making millions of dollars each year.
As more people started shopping online, Vishal saw a chance to create his own product brands instead of just selling things made by others.
So, he started two companies: one for wellness products called Calmras and another for kids' toys called Toujoo.
Together, these brands are now worth a lot of money.
Vishal also invested in many new companies and part of a factory that makes health and beauty items.
Even though it's a bit harder to ship things from where he lives, he likes the area and hires people from local universities.
Vishal believes it's better to try things and learn than to plan too much, and he is happy as long as his businesses are growing, even just a little bit.
Vishal Kedia transitioned from corporate training to IT development, eventually launching two consumer brands under Qaysa Care Private Limited: Calmras (wellness) and Toujoo (kids' toys).
These two brands combined generate an annual turnover of approximately Rs 25 crore and are valued at an estimated Rs 100 crore, fully bootstrapped.
Kedia has diversified his business interests by investing in around 20 startups, including notable ones like Third Unicorn, and holds a 25% stake in a manufacturing unit for nutraceutical and cosmetic products.
Despite operating from the Tri-City region (Chandigarh), which presents higher logistics costs and delivery times compared to major hubs like Delhi NCR, Kedia values the talent pool from Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh.
Kedia's entrepreneurial philosophy emphasizes taking action over over-planning and finds motivation in continuous progress, even if it's incremental.
