Chiefs' Minshew Injured, Oladokun Steps In
The Kansas City Chiefs had a tough game on Sunday.
Their backup quarterback, Gardner Minshew, got hurt early in the game.
He was running and then fell down, hurting his left knee.
He tried to keep playing but couldn't throw well, so he had to leave the game.
Another player, Chris Oladokun, who usually doesn't play much, had to step in.
Oladokun is a young player who has been practicing with the team.
He went to college at South Dakota State and did really well there.
Now, he gets a chance to show what he can do in a real game.
The Chiefs will see how he does and might keep him on the team next year if he plays well.
Gardner Minshew suffered a left knee injury early in the Week 16 game against the Tennessee Titans.
Minshew completed 3 of 8 passes for 15 yards before being ruled out for the rest of the game.
Chris Oladokun, a practice squad player, was elevated to the active roster and made his most significant NFL appearance.
Oladokun has spent most of his career on the Chiefs' practice squad and had only five snaps before this game.
Oladokun's college career included standout performances at South Dakota State, where he threw for over 3,000 yards and 25 touchdowns.
