FPIs continue buying spree, invest ₹12,921 crore in Indian equities

People from other countries can buy shares of companies in India.

These people are called foreign investors.

In the first week of August, they bought Indian shares worth ₹12,921 crore.

That is a very large amount of money.

It is good news for India's stock market.

For four months before August, these investors were mostly selling their shares.

In July, they bought shares worth ₹20,200 crore.

Experts say investors feel happier because oil prices are lower and the rupee is stable.

Investors also think the US will lower interest rates, which helps money move around the world.

Even with all this buying, foreign investors have sold more shares than they bought this year overall.
