India, Argentina Strengthen Agricultural Research Partnership
India and Argentina have agreed to work more closely together on farming.
They will share ideas and technology to help each other grow better crops and take care of animals.
This includes things like using special machines for farming, sharing plants and seeds, and learning from each other through visits and training.
They will focus on things like oilseeds, pulses, and keeping animals healthy.
Both countries will check on their progress every year to make sure they are doing well together.
ICAR and INTA signed a Work Plan 2025-2027 to strengthen agricultural cooperation between India and Argentina.
Key areas of cooperation include oilseeds, pulses, plant-animal health, agricultural mechanization, and horticulture.
The agreement involves joint research, germplasm exchange, expert engagements, and structured training and study visits.
Specific initiatives include Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) elimination, locust surveillance, zero-tillage, and the use of drones.
Germplasm exchange will include soybean, sunflower, maize, blueberry, citrus, wild papaya species, guava, and select vegetable crops.
