Preity Zinta defends her support for students' protest

Preity Zinta, a Bollywood actress, recently supported a students' protest led by the CJP and asked an activist, Sonam Wangchuk, to end his hunger strike for his health.

However, her support sparked criticism online, with many people saying she was following a script and that her message was politically motivated.

Preity Zinta responded to the trolls by sharing a note on her X account.

In her note, she said that while it's important to support students and ask for educational reforms, it's also important to ensure that peaceful protests are not hijacked by anti-national elements to create chaos.

She also addressed the hate she was receiving and expressed her belief in democracy, law and order, and the government.

She appealed for constructive dialogue to weed out any nefarious elements and agendas from the protest.

Her note divided netizens, with some supporting her stand and others criticizing her, calling her statement politically motivated.

Preity Zinta responded to one such critic by saying that she writes her own script and was not amused by the critic's spelling mistakes.
