Haryana Launches Scheme to Support Poor Prisoners
Imagine some people are in jail, not because they did something bad, but because they can't pay for their release.
Haryana is starting a new program to help these people.
They will create groups in each area with important people like judges and police to find those who need help.
These groups will give money to help these people pay bail or fines so they can go home.
They'll also make sure everyone knows about this and keep track of who gets help.
The goal is to be fair and give people a second chance, especially those who are poor.
Haryana launches the 'Support to Poor Prisoners' scheme to aid inmates unable to afford bail or fines.
Dr. Sumita Misra, Additional Chief Secretary, issued directions for implementation across all districts.
Empowered Committees, including District Magistrates and other officials, will be formed in each district.
Committees will identify, assess, and facilitate financial assistance for eligible prisoners.
Compliance reports are due within 15 days to ensure effective execution of the scheme.
