Congress Faces Hurdles in Appointing Mahila Congress Chief
The Telangana Congress wants to appoint a woman MLA as the new leader of the State Mahila Congress to make the party stronger.
However, the six women MLAs in the party are not very excited about this job because it involves a lot of traveling and work, which they find hard to manage along with their other responsibilities.
The party has asked four of these MLAs to consider the position, but none have shown much interest.
One MLA, Yashaswini Reddy Mamidala, has clearly said she doesn't want the job.
The party is also thinking about asking Vijayashanthi, a woman MLC with leadership experience, to take the position if the MLAs keep refusing.
The Congress believes that having a strong Mahila Congress is important for their chances in the next elections, so they are trying hard to find someone willing to take the job.
