BMC to Establish More Courts to Resolve Building Disputes
Imagine the city has a special court to help people with problems about building plans.
Right now, there's only one court, and it's very busy with lots of cases.
To help solve the problems faster, the city is going to open three more courts.
These courts will help decide if someone built something against the rules, like building too big or in the wrong place.
The new courts will have people in charge to hear the problems.
People can bring their building issues straight to these courts, which is much easier.
If someone doesn't like the court's decision, they can ask a higher-up for another look.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) plans to establish three more Odisha Development Authority (ODA) courts to resolve building plan disputes.
The current ODA court in BMC faces a backlog of approximately 7,000 pending cases.
These courts will handle disputes related to violations of building rules, including construction exceeding approved plans.
Additional Commissioners, one in each zone, will be designated as authorized officers to hear the cases.
People can file complaints directly, and the court also addresses encroachment cases from the BMC's enforcement squad.
