AI Initiative Launched to Boost Sugarcane Productivity in Ranjangaon
A sugar factory in Ranjangaon has started a new project using artificial intelligence to help farmers grow more sugarcane.
They have set up weather stations and sensors to give farmers advice on how to take care of their crops.
The factory is also giving prizes to farmers who follow the advice and grow the most sugarcane.
This project is the first of its kind in Maharashtra and involves many farmers working together to make their crops better.
An AI-based initiative to boost sugarcane productivity was launched in Ranjangaon by Natural Sugar and Allied Industries Ltd.
The project involves 753 farmers and is a collaboration between KVK Baramati, the Vasantdada Sugar Institute, and WISMA.
20 weather stations and 500 sensors are being installed to provide data for the AI system.
Farmers will receive advisories on water management, nutrient use, and other crop management practices.
The factory has set up a dedicated Sugarcane Development Department and a war room to support the project.
