BJP and Shiv Sena to Contest Maharashtra Municipal Elections Together
The BJP and Shiv Sena, who are currently ruling allies in Maharashtra, have decided to work together in the upcoming municipal elections.
This includes big cities like Mumbai and Thane.
They had a meeting where they agreed not to try to take each other's leaders and workers.
They will start talking about how to share the seats in the next few days.
Meanwhile, Aaditya Thackeray from the other part of Shiv Sena said that some of Shinde's MLAs might join the BJP, but the Chief Minister said that's not true.
Shinde's side also said that some of Thackeray's MLAs might join them instead.
BJP and Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena agreed to contest Maharashtra municipal elections as an alliance.
The decision was made during a late-night meeting on December 8 in Nagpur.
Both parties agreed not to poach each other's leaders and workers.
Seat-sharing discussions will begin at the local level in the next 2-3 days.
