Uttar Pradesh Polls: BJP Faces Youth and Caste Challenges

Uttar Pradesh Polls: BJP Faces Youth and Caste Challenges

Uttar Pradesh will hold an Assembly election in 2027.

The BJP and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath want voters to focus on development, welfare and government performance.

But many young people are worried about finding suitable jobs and about delays or problems in recruitment exams.

The government says it has created more than 9.3 lakh jobs and will give appointment letters to one lakh young people within six months.

Caste groups are also important in the election.

The BJP wants to keep its support among upper castes, non-Yadav OBCs and non-Jatav Dalits.

The Samajwadi Party is using its PDA plan to attract backward classes, Dalits and minorities.

Congress is also raising demands for greater caste representation and a caste census.
