BJP Chief Accuses Congress of Contradictory Positions on Electoral Roll Revision
Rajeev Chandrasekhar, a BJP leader in Keralam, criticized the Congress party.
He said Congress leaders speak differently about a voter-list check in Keralam and in Delhi.
He said V D Satheesan praised the process in Keralam but protested against it in Delhi with Rahul Gandhi.
Chandrasekhar also said Satheesan had stated that no one had complained about being wrongly removed from the voter list.
He said names were removed because people had moved, died, or were not present.
Chandrasekhar questioned the Congress leaders' position and said the voter-list check helps protect democracy.
He also made other accusations about Congress-run government in Keralam.
The article said Congress, Satheesan, and Gandhi had not responded to his claims.
BJP Keralam president Rajeev Chandrasekhar accused Congress leaders of taking different positions on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Keralam and nationally.
He said Chief Minister V D Satheesan praises SIR in Keralam but joined Rahul Gandhi's protest against it in Delhi.
Chandrasekhar cited Satheesan's reported remarks that there were no complaints of voters being denied ballots and that removed names belonged to people absent, deceased, or relocated.
He questioned how Satheesan could remain chief minister if, as Chandrasekhar said, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge called the elections illegal.
No response to the allegations from Congress, Satheesan, or Gandhi was reported; Chandrasekhar described SIR as a process to safeguard democracy.
