NIA Arrests Another Accused in JMB Offshoot Conspiracy Case

India’s National Investigation Agency says it has arrested another person in West Bengal.

The arrest is part of an investigation into an alleged plan involving a group linked to Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh.

The agency says the group wanted to spread extremist ideas and grow its network.

It alleges that the plan included persuading young people to join.

Investigators say meetings, religious teaching sessions, written material and online platforms were used or intended for this effort.

The agency says Telegram was among the platforms involved.

Officers seized phones and memory cards from the person arrested.

Earlier, 13 people were arrested after searches in three states.
