HC Upholds BDA Land Acquisition for Road Widening
The Karnataka High Court has decided that the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) was right to take some land for making roads bigger.
Some people who owned the land said they should get the same benefits as others and that the plan was too old.
But the court said no, because the BDA did everything correctly and the project is important for the city.
The court also said that making roads and other big projects are more important than what one person wants.
So, the BDA can keep the land and use it for the road.
Karnataka High Court upheld BDA's land acquisition for road widening in Banashankari Sixth Stage.
Appeals by landowners challenging the acquisition of 75 guntas were dismissed.
Court affirmed that public hearings were conducted and objections were considered.
BDA had acquired 580 acres and 18 guntas, creating 5,991 sites, with 4,983 already allotted.
Court emphasized that urban expansion and infrastructure development outweigh individual private interests.
