He and his friend, Serasiya Milan Ramnikbhai, planned to swap a real diamond with a fake one in a jewellery store.

They distracted the shop assistant, and one of them hid the real diamond in his mouth.

They were caught at the airport before they could leave Singapore.

The man was sentenced to over two years in jail.

He said he has two children in India and asked for a lighter sentence, but the court decided otherwise.
