Hyderabad NGO flags RTO portal anomalies
A group in Hyderabad called Urban Development Forum wrote to the IT minister about problems with the online RTI portal.
They said a private company managing the portal isn't doing a good job.
The portal was supposed to help people get information from the government, but it's not working well.
The group wants the government to take over the portal and fix the problems.
They also want to check if the company is doing a good job and spending the money correctly.
Urban Development Forum alleges irregularities in Telangana's RTI portal managed by a private firm.
Only 377 out of 17,805 applications have been addressed in three years.
The portal covers just 17 departments despite hundreds being under RTI.
The firm has claimed ₹1.51 crore out of a ₹2.07 crore contract.
The NGO demands a probe into the firm's performance and a redesign of the portal.
