Chakan MIDC Infrastructure Crisis Prompts 20 Companies to Consider Relocating

Chakan MIDC Infrastructure Crisis Prompts 20 Companies to Consider Relocating

Many factories are set up in a place in India called Chakan, where cars and other things are made.

The roads there are in bad shape, with big holes and lots of traffic jams.

Because of this, trucks carrying materials get stuck and arrive late, which costs the factories money.

Some businesses say they are losing 20 to 25 percent of their money because of these problems.

Now, about 20 factories are thinking about moving to another place called Khandala, far away.

That would be sad, because Chakan has almost 3,000 companies and gives jobs to about 15 lakh people.

The factory owners have asked the government for help for two to three years, but many problems are still not fixed.

They want smooth roads, better parking for big trucks, and cleaner surroundings.

The government had given a lot of money, about ₹7,000 crore, to build a road, but the work has not started yet.

Until the problems are fixed, the factories worry that more businesses will leave Chakan.
