Magistrate Warns Nanded DRM Over Bedbug-Infested Railway Sofas

Magistrate Warns Nanded DRM Over Bedbug-Infested Railway Sofas

A railway court official had told railway authorities to replace old sofas in a VIP waiting room.

The official also ordered them to remove pests from the room.

The order says the sofas still had bed bugs.

The railway magistrate said the instructions had not been properly followed.

Justice Manjusha Deshpande and her husband had reportedly noticed the problem at the station.

The magistrate said the condition caused inconvenience to High Court judges who use the room.

The Nanded DRM has been asked to explain what happened.

The magistrate may consider contempt action if the directions were ignored.

The next hearing is scheduled for September 30, 2026.
