Railway Stations to Get Premium Food Outlets
Imagine you're at a train station, and you see your favorite fast food places like McDonald's or KFC.
That might soon be a reality in India!
The people in charge of the trains have changed the rules to let these popular food brands open shops at stations.
They'll choose which brands can come through a special computer process, and the shops will stay for five years.
This is happening because many train stations are being made nicer, and people want more food choices.
So, soon you might be able to enjoy your favorite burger or fried chicken while waiting for your train!
Railway passengers may soon enjoy foods from popular brands like McDonald's, KFC, and Haldiram's at stations.
The Railway Board amended its catering policy to allow premium single-brand food outlets.
These outlets will be selected through the existing e-auction process and have a tenure of five years.
The move aligns with the ongoing redevelopment of over 1,200 stations across India.
Zonal railways will assess demand and space availability before implementing the change.
