Sadhguru Calls for End to Colonial-Era Farm Laws
Sadhguru, a well-known spiritual leader, spoke to a large group of farmers and important government officials.
He said that farmers should have complete ownership of everything they grow on their land, especially trees.
Right now, there are old laws from the British time that make it hard for farmers to sell or cut trees they grow.
Sadhguru wants these laws to be changed so farmers can make more money and take better care of the environment.
Many political leaders from different parties agreed with him.
The government official present also praised a project called Cauvery Calling, which has already helped plant millions of trees and improve the lives of farmers.
Sadhguru called for the amendment of colonial-era laws to give farmers full ownership of their produce, particularly timber.
The event saw a rare display of cross-party consensus with representatives from BJP, Congress, AIADMK, and DMK present.
Sadhguru emphasized that market rules, not bureaucratic oversight, should dictate agricultural commerce.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan praised the Cauvery Calling movement for planting 12.8 crore trees and rejuvenating the Cauvery River.
Sadhguru proposed a collaborative platform involving global scientists, UN agencies, and the Ministry to scale up tree-based farming.
