Government Appoints New Executive Directors
The government of India has appointed new executive directors at seven big banks.
Amresh Prasad is now the executive director at Union Bank of India.
He has worked in banking for over 32 years.
E Ratan Kumar is the new executive director at Central Bank of India.
He has about 35 years of experience.
Pramod Kumar Dwibedi is the new executive director at Bank of India.
He has worked in banking for over three decades.
Amit Kumar Srivastava, Sunil Kumar Chugh, Mini TM, and Prabhat Kiran are also new executive directors at Punjab National Bank, Canara Bank, Indian Bank, and Bank of Maharashtra respectively.
The government made these appointments official on November 24, 2025.
The Financial Services Institutions Bureau recommended these candidates after a selection process that took place from July 19 to August 4, 2025.
The government appointed new executive directors at seven public sector banks, including Union Bank of India, Central Bank of India, and Bank of India.
Amresh Prasad, formerly Chief General Manager at Punjab National Bank, is the new executive director at Union Bank of India.
E Ratan Kumar, previously Chief General Manager at Central Bank of India, is the new executive director at Central Bank of India.
Pramod Kumar Dwibedi is the new executive director at Bank of India, with over three decades of banking experience.
All appointments are for a three-year term or until further orders, effective from November 24, 2025, following recommendations by the Financial Services Institutions Bureau.
