Jadeja, Suthar, Kuldeep star as Sri Lanka XI reach 363/8

Two cricket teams, India and a Sri Lanka Cricket XI, played a practice match in the city of Colombo.

A practice match is a friendly game played before a big series, like a rehearsal before a show.

The Sri Lankan team batted first and scored 363 runs while losing 8 of their 10 wickets in 90 overs.

That means their batters scored a lot, and India's bowlers found it hard early on.

Nishan Madushka and Ravindu Rasantha got the Sri Lankan XI off to a great start with big scores of 66 and 71.

India's spinners, bowlers who make the ball spin, then fought back and took most of the wickets.

Ravindra Jadeja, Manav Suthar and Kuldeep Yadav each took two wickets.

Sri Lanka XI captain Sonal Dinusha scored 52 runs to keep his team strong.

India's captain Shubman Gill could not play because he hurt his right ring finger, so KL Rahul led the team instead.

The teams play again tomorrow, and the real two-Test series against Sri Lanka starts on August 15 in Galle.
