West Bengal to improve healthcare facilities

West Bengal to improve healthcare facilities

The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari, announced several initiatives to improve healthcare facilities in the state.

These include better residential facilities and working conditions for doctors, strengthening dialysis units, modern operation theatres, and Special Newborn Care Units.

The government plans to set up four new medical colleges and another AIIMS in North Bengal.

Additionally, the Adani Group will build a 2,000-bed international-standard hospital in New Town, which will also cater to economically weaker sections.

The state is working to transform health centers into Ayushman Mandirs under the Ayushman Bharat scheme and the National Health Mission (NHM).
