Gadkari Blames Congress for Hindu-Muslim Issues
Nitin Gadkari, a senior leader from the BJP, spoke at an event in New Delhi.
He said that the Congress party's understanding of secularism has caused problems between Hindus and Muslims in India.
He explained that the word 'secular' means treating all religions equally, not favoring one over another.
Gadkari believes that the Congress party's policies have created these issues, and he thinks it's important to learn from past mistakes.
He also said that India has always been secular because of its cultural values, not just because of the BJP or RSS.
He mentioned that these values wish for the well-being of the entire world, not just oneself or one's family.
Nitin Gadkari criticized Congress' interpretation of secularism, blaming it for ongoing Hindu-Muslim issues.
He defined secularism as 'sarva dharma sambhaav' (justice to all and appeasement of none), not 'dharmanirpeksha' as described by Congress.
Gadkari attributed the problems to Congress' vote bank politics and policies adopted after 1947.
He emphasized the need to recall history to learn from past mistakes and ensure they are not repeated.
Gadkari asserted that India's secularism stems from its cultural values, not just the BJP or RSS.
